For most of 2004 and 2005 I stored my 47 foot sailboat "Dream Walker" at the St. Marys boad yard in Georgia. While working on my boat, I came to know Mabel Smith and observed her work on other boats in the yard. Because I was able to see her work firsthand during all that time, I became convinced that she is very talented with gel-coat, fiberglass and paint. She knew what she was doing, worked hard and did an excellent job. After watching her repair and paint several boats that had been damaged in the 2004 hurricanes, I asked her to paint my boat.
Mabel primed, sanded and painted my Endeavor sailboat navy blue. She did a great job and I am very satisfied with her work. I have owned several large sailboats, sailed for many years and taught sailing. I would recommend Mabel to other boat owners.

We, Electric Dreams Inc., have used the services of Mabel Smith at North River Gelcoat & Fiberglass Repair for about five years. We have used her services for gelcoat repair to boats that have been shipped across country and damaged in shipment. My 27 foot Catalina sank during hurricane Francis in late 2004, and received heavy damage to the bow area, both sides, and the stern. It had a total of five large holes. This required months of fiberglass repair work, using fillers and sanding, then priming and spray painting. During my ten month stay in the St. Marys Boat Yard, Mabel advised me first on the process of fiberglassing the damaged areas, how to apply gelcoat, fillers and proper sanding techniques. I hired her when it came to spray paint the hull. She applied six coats of awlgrip, and two years later my hull is still beautiful!
